Update: Boy George's Dose unfortunately is no more. Other events worth checking out at Proud include its Elysian Burlesque night, first Wednesday in the month. It’s brand spanking new and hosted by none other than ex-jailbirdie himself, Boy George. Billing itself as the ‘biggest monthly gay nights of the year’, the line-up has so far included performances from the 80s icon himself, as well as guest turns from The Tenor Ladies and New York singer Coby Koehl, and DJs Jonny Slut and Fil Ok. It’s yet to be seen whether this really is going to make its mark on the gay clubbing scene, as with only one event in and a slightly out-of-the-gay-way venue, it still has a lot to prove.
