Sure, the Scandinavians might have the monopoly on cool design goods, but London’s not looking too shabby either – unless that’s the aesthetic you were going for? SCP is one of the East End’s oldest standing interiors houses, set in a cool spacious warehouse stocked full of their own line of modern furnishings as well as a staggering line-up of international brands.
Impossible to exit without something in your hand, it’s a totally inspiring space to walk through, packed with all manner of quirky light fixtures, unusual cutlery crockery, textiles, rugs, colourful cushions and the perfect little gifty knick-knacks for fussy friends. Check out the ever-changing chair wall upstairs and the handy kiosk of things you never knew you needed below.
A new outlet in posh tosh Westbourne Grove (87 Westbourne Grove, London W2 4UL) carries even more of the brand’s own upholstered pieces. Ikea be damned.
