Much-hyped for its unique design and equally berated for the extortionate restaurant prices (starters begin at £30), Sketch continues to pull in the style crowd who love Mourad Mazouz’s slightly OTT vision of the inside of a Faberge egg (if the website is anything to go by). Dived up inside an enormous Mayfair mansion you’ll find The Library, The Lounge, a Glade, The East Bar and a Parlour, which really all amounts to two bars and two restaurants, one of which masquerades as a video-installation cum art gallery by day. A lovely place to take a very high tea in the afternoon, and sit in a bedazzled pod shaped chair with martini in hand by night, Sketch is, above all the other things, an experience.
