Soho’s straight clubbing scene has, to all extents and purposes, diminished somewhat over the past decade, with heteros who aren’t a member of Soho House seeking out alternative nightspots to get on with their dirty business. This venue at least tries hard, bringing back the ‘boutique lounge bar’ experience with black-tiled walls and gold leaf a-plenty.
Now rebranded Miabella London, the former DIU isn’t the most exclusive joint in town, but has the fundamentals right, with its laser-lit VIP zone and busy dance floor. The drinks come courtesy of one of the guys behind LAB, and we’d plump for one of the bar’s shots anytime, whilst music is built around house with more chilled out acoustic sessions on offer during the week.
More importantly, watch out for the gay Club Room Service party: Beautiful bodies, young pouty faces and a smattering of dolled up trannies are taking to the laser-lit room of the club every Thursday. Dance to chunky house and get sweaty with the go-go boys.
