If jazz makes any kind of sense to you, then you’ll love this ten-day festival dedicated entirely to the tooting, beeping, screeching genre. Spread over 100 venues throughout the city, many of them free, 1,000 concerts promise to entertain even the most unseasoned of musical fans, from street-side cafes to grand-scale concert halls.
The event has been running since 1979 and is now one the world’s biggest jazz happenings, attracting a healthy calibre of international musicians with this year’s line-up including Wayne Shorter, Tony Allen, and Anoushka Shankar.
