Zoos aren’t for everyone. If the last time you peered into a cage didn’t even involve an animal, it may be time to step back through the gates with this shoppy alternative. The specimens on show are the secret stars of Danish design, with eight in-house artisans who create and display their work in the same space.
Variously working with ceramics, knitwear, glass and lighting, you can take your pick from freshly made interiors, jewellery and furniture straight off the shelf. A particular favourite is owner and founder Karsten Lauritsen’s bean table, available in different colours and leg lengths, and the whimsical porcelain prince sitting inside a bowl.
Besides the eight resident designers, the store stocks other lesser known talents and puts on the odd gallery show too. And, as the crafty creators are at your disposal you’ll even get the chance to discuss something a little bespoke; just don’t pet the designers.
