Copenhagen may be better known for Carlsberg and Tuborg pilsners, but it actually has its own signature cocktail and it’s concocted by 1105’s barman. But for all the charms of the Copenhagen Cocktail (Cherrry Herring liqueur, Bols Genever, lime juice, sugar syrup and a dash of Angostura Bitter), it’s not the drink but the man who is the draw at 1105.
His name is Gromit Eduardsen and loyal fans – acquainted with his shaker talents from Hotel Skt Petri’s Bar Rouge and the bar at Hotel Fox – have followed him to the chic but homely surroundings at 1105. There’s table service, so you can get cosy in one of the couches or armchairs or, if you’d rather watch the mixologists in action, you can take a seat by the bar – an advantageous spot later in the evening, when the small place gets rather packed.
