FREDERIKSBERG

Nested within the municipality of Copenhagen, this small independent county holds both the city zoo and the greater share of the city’s bourgeoisie within its limits (though not in the same building), thanks to a lower income tax and astronomical property prices.

Neat, pretty and civilised, it’s full of gourmet shops, old people waiting to expire, and young-ish executive families that haven’t yet grown big enough to force a move out to the suburbs proper.
