Bringing new meaning to customisation, this store in Berlin’s bustling Mitte recently opened under two ex-advertising execs.
The concept? Bring in some of the city’s finest illustrators, street artists and graphic designers, challenge them with unusual briefs, materials and techniques, and let the customer create their own final product.
The software behind the scheme is ‘Dudes LAB’, a system situated in-store and online that allows visitors to play with artists’ designs and fully individualise t-shirts, hoodies and sweats in a variety of colours and logos.
There are plenty of readymade options in the colourful shop, too, like special-edition moleskines, skateboards and toys. Monthly-changing artists keep the product fresh, whilst tutorials and lectures are available for anyone feeling particularly inspired.
