There’s no denying that the Reichstag – and Sir Norman Foster’s dome, in particular – is a sightseeing highlight of any visit to Berlin, but the queuing certainly isn’t. You could try to beat the crowds by showing up first thing or very late in the day, but for us there’s only one way to go and that’s by making a reservation at the Käfer restaurant on the rooftop of the building. The food is excellent and moderately priced – at least considering the queue jump. You’ll be in and out, wined and dined, in the time that you would have spent waiting.
