Just in case you weren’t quite sure of Church protocol (be quiet, have a think, light a candle and leave), this beautiful building spells it out for you. The Memorial Church, as it literally translates, is perfect for a spot of reflection or, for the culturally inclined, taking a tour past the Baptismal Font, Stalingrad Madonna and Martyr’s Memorial. Particularly notable is the bizarre juxtaposition between the old and new spires – one a traditional neo-romanesque building, the other a glowing steel and glass octagon made of blue honeycombs.
