Schöneberg

The Rathaus (town hall) in Schöneberg is where John F Kennedy made his famous ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’ speech, but this is also where you’ll find the traditional gay village of Berlin, of the classic activist genre, with the density of rainbow flags going up the closer you get to Nollendorfplatz. There’s a huge concentration of bars and clubs in the district, whilst shopaholics will find Berlin’s main department store KaDeWe nearby. The style here tends to be much more trend-driven, with quirky boutiques and cool antiques emporiums littering the street, and the locals dressing to impress.
