For boys who like the smell of burnt rubber and motor oil, it doesn’t get any better than Formula One. The Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Catalunya is one of the most popular stops of the season, with motor jocks, lovers of fast cars and the rest of the entourage of the F1 circus descend on Barcelona to lick up some early summer sun.
The actual race is on Sunday, but if you would like a closer look at the cars, then you may be better off going to the Friday practicing or Saturday qualifying sessions – or, of course, get a full three day pass.
The track at Montmeló is some way out of town and unless you’re familiar with local roads, then it’s advisable to go by public transport. Get there by train from Estació Sants or by a Sagales bus from Passeig Sant Joan.
