Don’t mistake the bourgeois Rambla de Catalunya for the souvenir-peddling tourist trap that is Las Ramblas. And don’t mistake Praktik Rambla for the city’s other budget lodging by a similar name. Well-designed, set in the refurbished, modernist Casa Climent Arola building, and featuring a huge patio terrace for guest use, this is a gem at its price level. The rooms themselves are comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and come with high ceilings, private baths and free WiFi, but other hotel services are limited. However, in this area, you’re unlikely to need many.
