With waterfalls, tables submerged into the goldfish ponds, and even a Vietnamese cabin set in the middle of it all (the place is huge – it used to house a laser paintball gaming facility), it’s theme park kitsch on steroids. Don’t be fooled though, the real attraction at Ly Leap’s new restaurant on Muntaner (its less glitzy sister restaurant is only a few blocks away on Aribau) remains the food. It’s not cheap, but the Cambodian chef has attracted a loyal following among the city’s top gourmands with his interpretations of classic dishes and homemade concoctions like the steamed mussel salad with coconut, ginger and garlic, and the lamb in plum sauce.
