As the last in the row of the chiringuitos, Catamarán is less busy and less expensive than the better-known Escribà next door, but enjoys the same delightful beachside setting – and happens to be the nearest to the main gay beach on Mar Bella. The place offers a good value set menu with a perfectly passable paella and it may be tempting to stick to that or the limited menu served on the outdoor terrace, but, unless the arroz caldoso con bogavante is on it, we’d recommend to head inside for this spectacular lobster rice dish.
