It may not be fair to Sergi De Meià, the rising star in charge of the kitchen, but the food, however excellent it is – and it is – will always play second fiddle at MonVínic.
More than a restaurant, this is really a temple for wine – sporting a menu of 3,000 wines browseable on a helpful tablet PC, with some 50 wines available by the glass – that happens to serve up some excellent nosh. In addition to the restaurant, bodega and wine bar, there’s a member’s section with library, private dining room and meeting facilities. They clearly know what a little Jesus juice can do for business.
