Regardless of whether you’re in recovery mode or just trying to make the most of the day, you could do worse than start it off on one of Picnic’s high chairs with a stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs and a few cocktails.
Weekend brunch is definitely when this cosy little restaurant really excels (and gets busy) but should you decide to come at another time, you won’t leave disappointed. There’s an attention to detail here that’s sometimes hard to come across in Barcelona, from the carefully crafted visual design to the delightful combinations of flavours that make the set menus at both lunch and dinner quite the bargain. And we swear that the pisco sours and strawberry and cucumber mojitos are just as tasty at night as they are at brunch.
For the more outdoorsy lot, terrace seating will be added soon and a - wait for it - a picnic basket service, Pink Flamingo style, is also in the works for outings in the nearby Parc Ciutadella.
