Update August 2010: Martins has now CLOSED after 25 years of service to the gay community in Barcelona. Good things come to those who wait, they say, and indeed, after having dwindled down to die-hard regulars and tourists with outdated Spartacus guides, Martins is having a bit of a resurgence. The place is dark, verging on downright seedy, and, in theory, primarily aimed at ‘real men’ – woof, woof! – and their admirers, but remains refreshingly attitude-free and welcoming to all. Leather men, bears and muscle guys of all ages pack the tiny dance floor and over-sized dark room of this three level club.
