A big ¿Que? is the most likely response if you try ordering anything more complicated than a spirit with a mixer in one of Barcelona’s gay bars, and even more so if the request is made in English. Exception, rule, you know how it goes, Born Gay Bar is it.
Besides the very Gaga-esque name, this loungey bar sports a respectable cocktail list that includes Mai Tais, Cosmos as well as some more adventurous options, and here the young Irish owner and barman will be more than happy to converse with you in English. In fact, still in the process of learning Spanish, he’ll converse you with in English only.
Tucked away on one of the Born area’s smaller side streets (and confusingly also called The Ice Bar), it isn’t exactly the most happening gay bar in town but swing by with some friends when you’re fine making your own entertainment or just hankering for a drink with more than one ingredient.
