Until recently, anybody who wanted a designer flat with full hotel services, would be limited to Hotel Arts and its EUR 1,300+ studios, which seems pretty indigestible for access to a stove – even for the keenest of cooks. Then Derby Hotels, whose crown jewel is the five-star Claris, commissioned Toyo Ito to design their Suites Avenue on Passeig de Gracia, combining the best of private home comforts (e.g., catering and a BBQ zone) with five star hotel services. So, lower rates for a superior location, more space (and arguably nicer interiors) and access to similar services (including pool and 24 hour room service). Any more incentive required?
