NEW OVEN

With its slick design, ambitious cuisine and muy cool lounge bar scene, the original Oven succeeded in bringing a good-looking, in-the-know, late twenty-thirtysomething crowd to the derelict industrial neighbourhood of Poblenou, and this new, more central location only makes it a more convenient destination. The concept remains the same, with the semi-industrial lounge look of hollow-brick walls and red accents intact, if not necessarily improved (the cuisine is still more creative than accomplished) but given that it’s now in walking distance from the center (and only a few blocks from DBoy), this may be a winner for a drink in straight company. Fridays are particularly busy as local trend magazine METAL is now hosting a weekly knees-up starting around midnight.
