Many visitors to Barcelona inexplicably skip this museum in favour of a trip to the better known but much inferior Picasso Museum. Don’t make the same mistake. It’s not only the world’s biggest collection of works by Miró, it also hosts some of the city’s best temporary exhibitions in Josep Lluis Sert’s spectacular rationalist-style building. Make sure to take a stroll in the sculpture garden (jazz concerts on summer nights) and, if you’re looking for a classy souvenir, swing by the museum shop to fetch a numbered lithograph.
