Barcelona’s metro system is cheap, easy to use, and often the fastest way for getting around town during the day. Most lines operate with 3-6 minute frequencies between trains. Watch your belongings, however, especially as people get on and off at stations. For most uses and purposes a T-10 ten-trip card offer better value than the unlimited ride cards.

Buses are comfortable enough, but many lines run infrequently (20-30 minute intervals) and the routes can be a bit cryptic.
Taxis

| Cost | From EUR 2 |
Taxis are fairly cheap in Barcelona and you’re able to get almost anywhere for less than ten euros. While flowing fairly well at night, traffic is bad during the day, during which you may be better off getting on the metro. After midnight a EUR 2 night supplement applies. Note that free taxis will have a green light turned on – if it’s not turned on, no amount of arm waving will make it stop so save your dignity.

For an intensive bout of sightseeing, or simply to get an express overview of the town, then the Bus Turístic is hard to beat. The passes will let you jump on and off the buses which run along two circular routes every 5-20 minutes, passing by most of the town’s sights. The passes also serve to give you discounted entry to a number of museums and tourist attractions.
